People laugh when I say that it takes courage to create a painting. But it’s true. All artists, not just painters, are constantly searching and exploring so that they can create something that’s never existed in the past. To do that, you have to challenge common sense first. Common sense is important for living one’s life, and most people live their lives based on it. However, there are a handful of authentic artists for whom convention is the enemy. One must transcend common sense in order to carve out one’s own and unknown world.
And for that, it takes courage.
