This is the catalogue of the exhibition DOUBLE FANTASY―Korean Contemporary Art, held from July 12 to October 12 , 2009.

This exhibition introduces the current state of contemporary Korean art, which has seen diverse developments in recent years, through works employing various media such as sculpture, painting, photography, video, and installation.The participating artists are mainly emerging talents who are attracting growing attention, including many being introduced in Japan for the first time. The title DOUBLE FANTASY refers to the coexistence of opposing elements in contemporary society—such as tradition and innovation, the artificial and the natural, the local and the global. This exhibition focuses on works that capture and visualize the spirit of our times, offering a fresh perspective on contemporary Korean art that goes beyond conventional stereotypes.
